Course Description: This course will focus on Mixed-Age Groups. We will explore what works, why it works and the Zone of Proximal Development. Participants will read two articles that will be emailed to them. Then reflect using the accompanying google form. Next participants will apply one thing they learned from the articles to their work with young children. Finally, participants and a learning specialist will meet at a designated time and place to discuss their learning.

How it works

  • Register in STARS.

  • Once you are registered you will receive and read the article, complete a reading check-in reflection, and apply one principle you learned.

  • Attend the discussion meeting on September 30 from 6:30-7:30pm. During the meeting participants will discuss the prior readings and learn new insights.

To earn STARS credit, educators must complete the readings and reading check-in/reflection before attending the meeting and participate in the meeting discussion. For questions or if you don’t receive your readings, please email kcossel@uwyo.edu.
