Infant Toddler Credential Course

In the state of Wyoming, any licensed childcare facility serving four or more infants is required to have at least one staff person who holds the Infant Toddler Director Credential as recognized by the Department of Family Services (DFS). The WYECPLC course meets all competencies and learning outcomes as outlined by DFS and aligns with national teacher competencies from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and Zero to Three (ZTT).

This course focuses on the development of children from birth to three years old and the key role that educators have in supporting and nurturing all aspects of infant-toddler learning and development. It serves as an introductory course to providing high-quality infant toddler care. We explore a range of topics which include infant toddler teacher dispositions, principles of high-quality infant toddler care, building relationships with children and families, creating environments that support learning and development, and exploring equity and diversity in an infant toddler classroom. We will learn how to have teacher-child interactions that support infants’ and toddler’s physical and perceptual, social-emotional, cognitive, and language and literacy development. We will discuss principles of inclusion and components of professionalism and ethical practice.

For more information, please see our information sheet.

We offer the infant toddler credential course three times a year (Winter, Spring/Summer, Fall).

Inclusion Credential Course

In communities across Wyoming there is a diverse range of children and families with different backgrounds, abilities, and needs. Inclusion recognizes and values this diversity and ensures that all children, regardless of their individual abilities and backgrounds, are welcomed and supported. Inclusions creates safe and nurturing environments where all children feel accepted and respected. This promotes a culture of empathy and understanding among peers and teaches all children valuable life skills that are essential for success.

Our Inclusion Credential Course is an eight-week intensive course that covers the values, policies, and practices that support every infant and young child, and his or her family in the classroom. Using laws, best practices, and national and state standards, we will learn, share, and question what it takes for each student to have a sense of belonging, access to positive social relationships, and an environment where they can reach their full potential. You will gain strategies, techniques, and resources to ensure the implementation of inclusive practices for all children.

We offer our inclusion credential course once a year in the fall.
